“Versatility is important to me, and I chose the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office 10 and a half years ago because of all it has to offer. As a JSO police officer I can move throughout the agency in different areas- such as K-9, detective, task forces, marine, and mounted units should I choose. Currently I am assigned to the Operation Safe Streets Initiative and I truly enjoy the challenges and rewards that come with my assignment.
I like living in Jacksonville because there are a myriad of opportunities for my family to spend quality time to together. We enjoy the beach, city and country life, NFL football, college football, the NCAA basketball tournament, concerts, and other events that come to the city. It is also important to me to volunteer in the community, and the flexible scheduling that JSO provides affords me the time needed to volunteer at my child’s school.
There are a lot of reasons to choose JSO as a place to work and Jacksonville as a place to live. But the most compelling reason for me is that I get to be a patrol officer in one of the largest cities in the country and know that I make a difference every day.”
