Health, Life & Dental - Available after ninety days employment with employee-only health coverage provided at no cost. Extended health and dental coverage for family members is available.
Retirement - Police, corrections and civilian officers each have unique pension benefits with health coverage available.
Tuition Reimbursement - Available at Florida Community College at Jacksonville/University of North Florida rates.
Holidays - Police officers have 12 holidays and all other employees have 11 holidays plus a personal leave day, except for community service officers and judicial officers, who have 11 holidays.
Vacation -Annual leave is accrued biweekly based on various bands of years of service. New employees earn 160 hours annually (6.15 hours biweekly) increasing to 280 hours annually at the beginning of the 25th year of employment. Annual leave may be accrued to a maximum of 480 or 600 hours, depending upon the career path you choose.
Service Incentive - Employees receive $300 annually for every five-year increment of employment. Upon reaching 20 years of service, employees earn $1,200 annually in service incentives.
